Buben Challenge Coin Rules:

1. The challenge is initiated by drawing your Buben coin, holding it in the air by whatever means possible and state, scream, shout, or otherwise verbally acknowledge that you are initiating a Buben coin check. Another, but less vocal method is to firmly place it on the bar, table, or floor (this should produce an audible noise which can be easly heard by those being challenged, but try not to leave a permanent imprint).
      a. If you accidentally drop your coin, you are obligated to buy drinks for any Buben who hears or sees the coin hit the floor-provided they have their coin on them. This is called paying the price for improper care of your coin and for forcing your fellow members to witness such a disgraceful event.

          A. The proper response to a Buben coin check is for all of the Buben being challenged to produce their coin in a manner similar to the challenge (held aloft or placed on the table).

          B. If you are challenged and are unable to properly respond within 60 seconds, you must buy a round of drinks for the challenger and the rest of the group being challenged - provided they have their coin, those who do not have their coin will share the expense.

          C. If all of the Buben being challenged respond in the correct manner, the challenger must buy a round of drinks for all the Buben they challenge.

          D. Failure to buy a round is a dispicable crime and will require that you turn-in your Buben Coin.

2. When - Where
     A. Coin checks are permitted, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE.

3. Exceptions:
     A. There are no exceptions to the rules. They apply to those clothed or unclothed. At the time of the challenge you are permitted 60 seconds to locate your Buben Coin. If you still cannot produce it---SORRY ABOUT THAT!

4. The Buben coin is a coin: It is not a coin that has been attached to a belt buckle, a keychain, a coffee mugs, or a paperweight. These items are not Buben coins ~ they are belt buckles, key chains, coffee mugs, and paperweights. Buben coins are kept on one's person as coins. The only exception to this rule is a coin placed in a holder or clasp and worn around the neck like a necklace. This is considered a venerable use of the Buben coin and would still be considered acceptable.
